The entries for Basketball Australia’s search for their Vicinity Centres Aussie Hoops Coach of the Year for 2017 have now closed. Congratulations to the following Associations and their Aussie Hoops coaches who have been nominated by parents for this award!
The Vicinity Centres Aussie Hoops program is Basketball Queensland’s junior game development program for primary school aged children. The nationally accredited program encourages kids aged 5 – 10 to live an active lifestyle whilst also fostering a lifetime of involvement in basketball.
It’s no secret that active kids are more likely to become active adults, and kids today have a plethora of choices when it comes to choosing what sports they want to play. The Federal Government have partnered with 30 national sporting organisations, including Basketball Queensland to create Sporting Schools, a program designed to help foster children’s interest and engagement in sport from an early age.
