We might not be out on the court but this is the perfect time to master your basketball basics.
Follow the training videos below so when it’s time to get back in the game you’re ready to go.
Individual Development Tips
TIP 1: ROUTINE
Set aside time in your day, 45 mins devoted to basic development skills, spend 30 minutes challenging and interacting with your family using a range of differing platforms and challenges.
TIP 2: CREATIVITY
Be creative, add to some drills to keep yourself engaged in the “basic’ drills, change up drills, timings and targets. Add anew move a day when ball handling, beat previous days targets in shooting. Now is the time to not be afraid of failing or not being able to do something.
TIP 3: IMAGINATION
This will allow your mind to take you places you cannot at the moment, out yourself in game scenarios, last second shot guarded by LeBron James –what move will you use? Imagine yourself in a Queensland jersey or NBA jersey making moves and hitting shots.
TIP 4: PASSION
If you want it….you have to make it happen!
If you want to make the most out of this time, keep the basketball next to you at all times.
Eat with it, sleep with it and just have it with you working on your dribble moves (dancing), your handle and feel and just get up as many shots as you can with smart repetitions, technique and fundamentals. Steph Curry makes 500 shots per day in the summer and makes 200 to 350 shooter per day during the season.
