Southern Districts Spartans today sadly announce that after a year as the General Manager, overseeing the new direction of the Association, Mr Peter Foster has elected to move on in his career pathway.
Under Peter’s direction, the Association has undergone huge directional changes both on and off the court, “We have achieved so much” offered Chairman, Mr Nigel Stainer announcing the news.
“What Peter has done within the Association in his twelve months is outstanding and both the Board and members of the club will always be thankful for. Sadly nothing stays the same in this ever-changing world and the Board of SDBAL accepts Peters desire to move on to other challenges in his personal life and career direction. It is as a person committed to the youth of today and their education that makes Peter so successful and we are grateful for the role he has played in our development”.
Under Peter’s management, the stadium has undergone a huge revamp and now plays host to the Brisbane Bullets and the Sporting Wheelies, two Brisbane based basketball programs competing in national competitions.
He also has been instrumental in developing the junior program through elite programs while maintaining the development of the grassroots to a stage where the stadium is at full capacity.
In announcing his departure Peter offered these words. “It was great to be able to contribute to the Spartans and sport that I love and hopefully I have made a difference to the place that I grew up in and that shaped so many lives. It’s time for me to put my energies into returning to Education, making every effort to have a wider difference while staying involved with the Spartans as a coach and parent”.
Peter is to remain involved with Southern Districts through his coaching of the under 18 junior men’s team and will play a huge role in the direction of the junior program.
