We caught up with Nicole to find out what she did before BQ and to see what how she feels about her new role.
What did you do before working to BQ?
For the last 2 years I’ve been living in the USA experiencing as many major league sporting events as possible! Before that I was with Baseball Victoria coordinating school holiday training camps and helping with school clinics. Over the summer I’ve been volunteering with the Brisbane Bandits who just won the Australian Baseball League Championship.
We understand that you’re currently studying. What are you studying and what do you hope to achieve with your degree?
I’m currently studying a Sports Management degree. I hope that working in my new role with Basketball Queensland will help me discover what possibilities are out there and what area I’d like to work within sports.
Did you/do you play any sports and to what level?
I have played soccer and Aussie rules, I’m new to Brisbane and hoping to join a team soon. I play just for fun!
What do you feel that you bring to your new role?
I bring many years of administration experience along with a little bit of sporting industry experience and a lot of passion.
We’ve been told you have a real passion for sport. What fuels this passion?
Passion is a bit of an understatement! I love to see a team give everything they’ve got for a win and I especially love a come from behind victory. I love to cheer for the underdog! I love the energy of a live sporting event and being part of a group that all come together from different walks of life with the common purpose of cheering for their team.
