11 Coaches took part in this year’s coaches study tour which involved unrestricted access to some of the most successful basketball programs across the United States. The touring party left Australia on the 8th of October and returned some 20 days later at the end of October.
We’re coming close to the school holidays, which means less time on the basketball courts – with BQJBC and CBSQ also going on a short hiatus for the break. However, this doesn’t have to mean you can’t keep active!
2017 has brought about some significant changes to the Australian junior Pathway, including the way in which teams qualify for the Junior Championships. As of November 2017, Australia will remain in the FIBA Oceania zone, but will qualify through the Asia-Pacific region, with 15 months of qualifying ahead of the 2019 World Cup in China.
The entries for Basketball Australia’s search for their Vicinity Centres Aussie Hoops Coach of the Year for 2017 have now closed. Congratulations to the following Associations and their Aussie Hoops coaches who have been nominated by parents for this award!
It’s that time of year again, the SUPERCAMP 2018 AUSTRALIA is back.
The camp will be held at Harristown State High School from 7th-11th January 2018. It’s open to boys and girls from 6 – 18 years for all skill levels.
